DUELING PIANOS
Dueling has been outlawed in Canada since 1833 – except for one special night coming up at the Summerland Community Centre! Mark your calendars for Friday, April 17. For this unusual duel, the weapons of choice are: pianos!
“Dueling Pianos,” which features the amazing pianists Monica Tracey from Kelowna and Justin Glibbery from Penticton, will perform a fabulous repertoire of sing-along hits from the 60’s to the present. You can request your favourite songs, and dance and sing along! This extremely entertaining show is complete with exceptional vocals, four dazzling piano hands, lots of laughter, and full Audience Participation!
Monica Tracey is a born entertainer and loves to involve the audience with singing and dancing, providing an extraordinary show of live music. She plays popular favourites, always catering to the crowd and the party environment. Audience Requests are definitely a big part of the act to make the event special and memorable. Monica’s powerful vocals and upbeat piano style always rocks the crowd! She leads the popular Okanagan all-female dance band, Moni Funk, and is also leader and music arranger for Kelowna’s dynamic vocal group, Treble in Paradise.
Justin Glibbery is an outstanding piano performer from Penticton. Newly retired, he was Director of Music at the Penticton Secondary High School for over 25 years. He has also led many successful community choirs and bands over the last two decades. Justin currently performs with Andrew Johns in his tribute band, Classic Elton (formerly The Yellowbrick Road Experience) as well as with the Justin Glibbery Quartet, Yanti, Rann Berry & the One Hit Wonder Show, The Soul of Motown, and Alfie Zappacosta. He thoroughly enjoys Dueling Pianos with Monica Tracey as he has more than 2000 songs in his repertoire and can play requests at the drop of a hat!
Come to the show equipped with your favourite tunes in mind to request and be prepared to be blown away as the Dueling Pianos embrace the challenge with amazing skill, coupled with splash of wit and whimsy!
