Bald Range Wildfire – Story-sharing Afternoons Nov. 1 & 8

THE BALD RANGE WILDFIRE: Survivor Stories
A Sharing Event
Hey Summerlanders and Faulder Folks,
Many of us have incredible stories to tell about what we experienced during the Bald Range Wildfire in August. While there are common threads, every person’s journey and response was unique.
How were you affected? Would you like to connect with others and share your experiences over coffee?
On Sunday afternoons, November 1 and November 8 at the Community Centre, we’ll gather to share experiences, reflect on recovery, and connect with others who lived through the wildfire.
You can expect a brief introduction, small-group conversations around tables, and opportunities for volunteers to share stories with the wider group.
Participants are also invited to contribute a written story for a possible community publication. You may bring a written story to either session, or if you cannot attend, submit a story through a friend who can share it on your behalf.
If there is sufficient interest and enough stories are submitted, participants may choose to continue meeting beyond November to develop a published collection of wildfire experiences. Any publication decisions, including the use of proceeds, would be made collectively by participants. Funds could be directed to a local cause or organization supporting those still affected by the wildfire. If participants elect not to publish, for those who are willing, we could simply contribute our stories to the museum for their archives, as they have a similar project and mission.
Let’s come together to share, support one another, and contribute to the history of our community.
